Thematic Pieces

Norman Gardner's work has always followed certain themes. While his first love, he might insist, is the portrayal of the female figure, he is also a frequent portrayer of animals (cats, birds, bull (with fighter)), of literary and mythological figures (centaurs, Don Quixote, Venus) and of biblical images (Adam and Eve, Lot's Wife, Madonna with Child). These have been themes that he has returned to time after time, each with the unique, interpretive perspective of the artist.
