RESIDENTS

We need you! Your participation in GreenSTART is vital. It is the basis upon which our success with this program will be built. Your participation will have a very big impact not only on how well Atherton will do in reducing its overall greenhouse gas emissions but it will have a very big impact on how much support we can provide to our children and to all students in the schools who are working to put together environmental projects. Here's what we need you to do:

Complete our Resident Participation Form We make this easy for you through the residents tools link. These are the basic steps:

  1. Print out the Resident Participation Form and fill out Part I (about 5 minutes).
  2. Skip to Part II of the form and answer some questions—having your PG&E and Water bills handy will help (about 30 minutes).
  3. Complete Part III of the form by returning to this web site and looking through our ten Efficiency Areas. We hope you will learn some things, make some changes, start saving on energy and heating costs or consider future changes that you'd like to plan for (spend as much time as you care to on this).
  4. Complete Part IV after you have done as much as you can.
  5. Contribute to the GreenSTART Fund according to your results and return only Page one, with Parts I and V of the form to us, with your check or online contribution.

Attend our GreenSTART Fair and Vote Once you return your form and your contribution, you are a registered Resident Participant. This entitles you (and your family) to vote at the GreenSTART Fair. There will be Vote Cards waiting for you when you arrive and you will be able to vote to select those student projects that you believe deserve prizes and funding.

For your information and to get a better sense of how your contribution will help us "Close the loop on Carbon" please browse through the links on the right, which we have provided to help you get a better understanding of various issues, including what a carbon footprint is and how carbon "offsets" work.

It's that simple! Please take the time to look through the links here. There is a lot to gain! Thank you very much for your participation!
