The Atherton EPC is delighted to introduce our GreenSTART competition and the GreenSTART FUND to help our community "close the loop" in reducing our collective carbon footprint. The GreenSTART Fund will provide funding for competition prizes for students and schools participating in the GreenSTART competition, as well as provide some limited project funding for the implementation of worthy GreenSTART projects that require additional funding. STUDENTS: The GreenSTART FUND needs you to get your parents to participate as Residents in this competition! Please ask them to complete a Resident Participation Form (they can do it in as little as 5 minutes!) or just consider making a fully tax-deductible donation to this fund, which goes directly to support your prizes and projects! RESIDENTS AND HOMEOWNERS: The GreenSTART FUND needs your contribution! Please consider making a fully tax-deductible donation to this fund, which goes directly to support carbon reductions and other environmental initiatives in local schools and neighborhoods through the GreenSTART program and helps to offset your own family environmental footprint. If you wish to participate and be able to VOTE on student project winners at our Fair, please complete a Resident Participation Form as well (you can do it in as little as 5 minutes)! CORPORATE SPONSORS: Additional funding support comes from our GreenSTART sponsors. We are seeking sponsorships from companies that are or are striving to be good green citizens! We have developed a special Sponsor Program to work with your preferences and needs. Please click on Sponsor Program to download our information about GreenSTART sponsorship opportunities. PURPOSE: Donations to the GreenSTART Fund will help students succeed at creating and implementing projects that target the environmental challenges that they identify at their schools, in their neighborhoods or within the town or local area. By putting these contributions to work on local projects (rather than out-of-state projects such as supported by other carbon offset programs), the EPC is immediately addressing issues right here in Atherton (where we top the charts in electric and gas usage per household).
